Fiat, VW and Mercedes Win Big at the 2016 Van Fleet World Honours

The VW Transporter, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Fiat Doblo Cargo took the major awards of the night for their size categories at this year’s Van Fleet World Honours in London.

What is the Van Fleet World Honours?

From the makers of Fleet World magazine, The Fleet World Honours is the most prestigious event in the fleet calendar. It is an award presentation and celebration of the best cars and fleet management vehicles of the year, as voted by a star panel of industry experts.

Why Did These Vans Win?

Fiat Doblo Cargo - Winner of Best Small Van - A second time award for this compact favourite, it was said to have an “unrivalled combination of engine choice, payload and load volumes, with no fewer than four body sizes available and a dropside pick-up”.

Volkswagen Transporter - Winner of Best New Van and Best Medium Van - A competitive category, this 6th generation model was a standout once the judges got behind the wheel.

Van Fleet World’s Editor, Dan Gilkes, said:

“The T6 Transporter had this award sewn up from the moment we first turned the key in the ignition,” he adds. “Of all the vans that we tried last year, Volkswagen’s T6 Transporter was the one that delivered a winning drive.”

Mercedes Sprinter - Winner of Best Large Van - Winning for the 7th time in eight years, it was deemed “the backbone of fleets” in the UK.
