Vauxhall vans a hit with small business owners

Vauxhall’s range of light commercial vehicles has proved to be a real hit with small business owners, who have flocked to the Vauxhall’s award winning range, making them the number one LCV manufacturer outside of fleet sales for the year to date.

So far this year Vauxhall has sold more than 9,000 vans to retail customers and over 2,000 last month alone. The star of the show for Vauxhall has been the Luton-built Vivaro, which was the best-selling van in the retail medium van segment.

Vehicle manufacturers can traditionally expect a peak in sales in September as the new vehicle registrations are introduced. Not only did Vauxhall top the charts for sales volume in the lucrative month of September, they also topped the charts in both March and April.

Part of the reason for Vauxhall’s excellent performance over the year has been the offer of four years 0% APR finance, four years free servicing, a four year warranty and four years of free AA cover.

In light of this success, Vauxhall has now become the UK’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles, building over 70,000 vans last year at its plants in Luton and Ellesmere Port. Vauxhall have also strengthened their award-winning range over the past year with the launch of the all-new Combo.

Vauxhall believe the success they are experiencing is down to the low running costs, high build quality and extensive manufacturer support they offer, which is a perfect fit for the challenging economic position many small businesses find themselves in.

Richard Collier, Vauxhall’s national commercial vehicle and business-to-business sales manager, said: “September is a crucial month for van sales and I am very pleased with our performance.”

Overall the news in September is good for commercial vehicle manufacturers, with the total market showing an increase of 1 per cent.
